Easy 20 Minute Lemon Seafood Pasta with Toasted Breadcrumbs Video

I’m switching it up on y’all with a recipe video! I’ve really enjoyed documenting our cooking adventures on my Instagram, so I figured I would level up the quality and put them on my YouTube channel. Yes, I have a YouTube channel that had two videos on it before this one. The instructions for my easy 20 minute lemon seafood pasta with toasted breadcrumbs are in the video, but I figured I would consolidate the ingredients so it’s even easier to follow.

If you follow my Instagram, you can tell I’ve been cooking at home a lot since I have more time on my hands. Chef Christian and I have really enjoyed trying out new recipes or recreating our favorite takeout spots at home. I’ve found in our trials that some things are worth making yourself and others you should leave to the professionals. Here’s some highlights of our different recipe trials/ fails:

Pink Cactus: Authentic Bites & All the Tequila

Spring Street is blowing up with new restaurants and Pink Cactus is a welcome addition! They specialize in authentic Oaxacan cuisine with plenty of tequila and mezcal cocktails to wash it down. We started out with shared apps and moved into a 4-course meal paired with cocktails. The menu items look familiar like chicken tacos and enchiladas, but you get hit with a flavor bomb from the authentic mole sauces that have such depth of flavor like you’ve never had before!

7 Cooking Lessons I Learned from my Dad

I took a little hiatus from writing blog posts as I was trying to adjust to a new job and a new responsibility of my pup Tater Tot! Now I’m back and excited to keep putting out content for you! Another person who is excited about my writing coming back is my dad. My dad has been my proof reader since day one and is the one who encouraged me to keep writing no matter what. I figured there was no better birthday present for him than his very own dedicated blog post. So here are some cooking/life lessons I have learned from my dear old dad.

My 5 Favorite Places to Cozy Up to Cocktail in CHS

I guess this is it, my favorite season is finally over… Yes I complain the whole summer about how hot it is, but it’s much better than being cold! The only way to deal with the cold is my favorite activity, drinking! Now that it might be too chilly for patio sipping, it’s time to take it inside and cozy up to the bar. These 5 places are my go tos when you are feeling more of a classy vibe and don’t necessarily want to drink PBR all night (but maybe later). Instead, I cozy up in one of these places with a fancy-ish cocktail and sip away the cold.

My First Catch and Cook with a Sea Trout

That’s right, I’m down with the fisherman lingo! Actually, Christian is the fisherman, and he’s the one who caught the fish, I just sat and drank on the boat while he caught it. The cooking though, that was all me. I have always grown up with catch and release with fishing, but when Christian finally caught a fish that was big enough to eat, we decided to go for it. I’ve watched enough pro chefs filet a fish on TV, so I figured I could do it. Spoiler: the TV chefs make it look easy.

My Favorite Bridge Run After Parties

Most people focus on the running part of the Bridge Run, but I am all about the eating and drinking afterwards (shocker)! This will be my 6th year doing the Bridge Run and I use it as my yearly fitness test to make sure I can still do it. When I first ran it, I was still in running shape from cross country/track in high school, so every year it gets more difficult. Luckily for me, the support that Charleston gives to the bridge runners is enough to get me to do it every year. Hundreds of volunteers pass out water, businesses open earlier than normal, and the whole city is just one big celebration!

*This is a sponsored post written on behalf of Riceland Foods. All opinions are 100% my own.*

Happy Holidays everyone! I am so excited to go home and spend time with my family. When my parents were in town recently, they were asking me about ideas for breakfast on Christmas morning. In my family, we keep it simple on Christmas morning with cinnamon rolls and mimosas. The cinnamon rolls only keep us full for so long, so we need something hearty in order to keep pounding the mimosas while opening presents. My make-ahead breakfast bites featuring Riceland Foods medium-grain brown rice are the perfect solution for this holiday hunger dilemma. Keep reading to find out more about this easy, make-ahead recipe!

Duck Donuts Arrives in West Ashley

Is there anything better than a donut hot out of the fryer? I have been to plenty of donut shops before, but Duck Donuts is definitely the most unique one I’ve been to. My past experience with donuts has been picking them out of a display case, not knowing when they were made. I am definitely going to be more picky about my donuts now after having them hot off the presses at Duck Donuts in West Ashley.
