A little bit about me: I’ve lived in Charleston, South Carolina since 2014 and have been actively involved in the food community ever since. I love sharing the many culinary gems we have here in the Lowcountry on my Instagram and TikTok, but if you would rather have those guides in writing, you’ve come to the right place. Not only do I love to explore Charleston restaurants from a diner’s perspective, but I’m also a food writer for Charleston City Paper, Charleston Living Magazine, and Mashed, so I usually have the inside scoop.
Y’all know I love a cocktail, but lately the hangovers have been getting worse and worse. I’ve been trying out Delta-8 products recently because in my personal experience it gives me a light buzz that is really enjoyable. When I saw that there was a Delta-8 infused seltzer, I had to give it a try. This seltzer is great for mixing because it doesn’t have a strong flavor on its own, so it is super adaptable for whatever you want to put in it. Check out the recipe below and if you want more information on Delta-8, head to LOKI’s website.

They specialize in authentic Oaxacan cuisine with plenty of tequila and mezcal cocktails to wash it down. We started out with shared apps and moved into a 4-course meal paired with cocktails. The menu items look familiar like chicken tacos and enchiladas, but you get hit with a flavor bomb from the authentic mole sauces that have such depth of flavor like you’ve never had before!

The only way to deal with the cold is my favorite activity, drinking! Now that it might be too chilly for patio sipping, it’s time to take it inside and cozy up to the bar. These 5 places are my go tos when you are feeling more of a classy vibe and don’t necessarily want to drink PBR all night (but maybe later). Instead, I cozy up in one of these places with a fancy-ish cocktail and sip away the cold.

The Alley is fun on a normal night, but this party pulled out all the stops to benefit the party-goers as well as a local non-profit: Be a Mentor. It has been nominated for best party of the year by Charleston City paper for the past 4 years and after attending this year, I know why. The inspiration for this shrimp salad comes from my herb garden. I recently started growing my own herbs because my dried spices just weren’t cutting it anymore. Not only does it add a pop of freshness to my dishes, it’s also cost effective. I have fresh mint, terragon, chives, and rosemary ready to go whenever I need it and I only paid $4 for each plant.
