It’s time to celebrate 2020 coming to an end with an extra boozy cocktail. 2020 has been rough and one form of alcohol will not cut it this year. When I spotted the cranberry sour beer from Edmund’s Oast, I knew I had to fancy it up and turn it into a festive cocktail. If you’re in charge of the drinks this holiday season (for yourself or for others) this recipe is super simple and packs a punch!
Ingredients
For the simple syrup:
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- 2 sprigs rosemary
For the drink:
- 1 wedge of fresh orange
- 1/3 of a cranberry beer (I used Edmund’s Oast Sour Cranberry Lime)
- 1 oz gin (I used Nippitaty Distillery)
- 1/2 oz rosemary simple syrup
For the garnish:
- Fresh cranberries
- Sprig of rosemary
How to Make It
- Start by making the simple syrup. Bring the sugar and water up to a simmer and stir until the sugar dissolves. When the sugar dissolves, add in the rosemary. Allow the syrup to cool completely, then remove the rosemary sprigs. Store in an airtight container.
- Next, fill a low ball glass up with ice. Add in the rosemary simple syrup and gin. Next, squeeze in the orange wedge.
- Next, fill the glass up with the beer and stir.
- Garnish the drink with a couple of fresh cranberries and a sprig of rosemary.
Cheers y’all and Happy Holidays!
