I wish I was cool enough to drink bourbon straight, but I’m just not that gal. However, I found that when you mix bourbon with lemon, ginger, honey, cinnamon, and hot water, it magically turns into a hot and delicious cocktail. This Ginger Hot Toddy kicks the traditional recipe up a bit with that extra warming spicy in there. Hope y’all enjoy!
Ingredients
Makes 1 Ginger Hot Toddy
- 2 shots bourbon (I use a local Charleston bourbon Virgil Kaine)
- Juice of 1/2 a lemon
- 1 TB honey
- 1/4 tsp grated fresh ginger
- Enough hot water to fill up your mug
- Optional garnish: cinnamon stick
How to Make it
- Boil water either on the stove or using an electric kettle
- Pour the bourbon into your coffee mug of choice and juice in the lemon
- Add in the honey and grate in the ginger
- Top it off with the hot water and stir with a spoon to make sure the honey is fully incorporated
- Garnish with a cinnamon and enjoy by the fire or inside under a warm blanket!
