Jack’s Cafe Review

Jack’s specializes in no-fuss diner food. I usually go there for breakfast, but I’ve heard their burgers are awesome too. My favorite item at Jack’s is none other than the Hangover Cure. It comes with 2 eggs, 2 of their giant pancakes, choice of ham, sausage, or bacon, and choice of home fries or grits. You get all of that for $10, so it’s a great deal. It is a lot of food so I rarely finish it and end up in a food coma, but I still enjoy the process of tasting all their classic breakfast items.

If I’m not eating the Hangover Cure, I usually get an omelet. Their omelettes are filled to the brim with toppings and cheese; they don’t skimp on anything (especially the cheese). The omelet comes with home fries and Jack’s home fries are nothing to joke about. They are seasoned with paprika, which gives them a unique flavor. I could just eat a giant plate of their home fries and leave satisfied.

If you’re feeling like indulging in the sweeter side of breakfast, their pancakes and waffles are delicious. Their pancakes can sometimes be salty because they’re cooked on the same griddle as the bacon, but I enjoy the whole salty sweet combo. Their waffles have great texture and you can add whipped cream, strawberries, or Nutella.

My one piece of advice would be to get there early on the weekends before the hungover college kids drag themselves there. It can get pretty crowded because it is a small space, but it is always worth the wait.
